The secret between us and Christ and the world is in the theme of the church for the year. Paul imitated Christ and he also wants us to learn from him. An example of Christ means to put Christ first in all things of your life; marriage, work, family, finance, etc.

There should be no difference between our private and public life. The secret of our success is to be like Christ. 1Cor 4:16,17

We must stop a life of the hypocrisy if we are to live like Christ.

The dictionary definition says example is a pattern- that is a pattern of Christ or a representative of Christ. The person becomes an ambassador clothed with all authority and power because of the role Christ has given him.

Today’s theme is influenced by the fact that it takes a holy life for our prayer and service in Christ to be heard.

“Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.”Joshua 3:5

“Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the articles of the Lord’s house. But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:11-12

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without hominess no one Will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14

Holiness is not about dressing. Holiness is a matter of the heart. It is a lifestyle. Many are confusing holiness with spirituality. Spirituality means having relationship with the Holy Spirit. Holiness is to live the very life of Christ in us. God’s attributes are divided into two,  communicable and noncommunicable attributes. God is faithful, holiness etc

Noncommunicable is His glory. One of His communicable attributes is holiness.

Holiness means being  pure and perfect. Something not contaminated. Godliness, sanctity, righteousness also stand for holiness.

If you have relationship with Christ, you will be careful to live a holy life. Reading His word is one sure way of staying holy. Exodus 19:5 1 Peter 2:9.

For 33 years Jesus lived a pure life. God does not sin and He wants His people to live in that standard. Hebrews 1:9.

Holiness in thought

Holiness in what we see    Job 31:1

Holiness in our business dealings

Holiness in our conversation

We shall become like Christ

We shall inherit heaven

Experience the prosperity of God

Miracles shall take place in our lives

You will not run away from your enemy. Holiness gives you courage.

The Lord will go forth before you. The Lord shall deliver you.

God will protect you from behind.

Holiness deals with difficult situations. God expects us as leaders of the church to be holy.

We need not touch what is sinful. Everything in the house of God is holy. God had a special word for the priests and Levi who carried the vessel. If we defile ourselves, we defile the work of God.
