My heart goes out to the families of the over 150 university students of Garissa University College in Kenya who were killed in a campus dawn raid by the Islamist group Al-Shabaab.
The raid unfortunately was targeted at Christian students who were at a Lord Supper service to celebrate Easter. Why they chosen innocent students, still remains unclear? But one thing was clear. They had come to attack Christians. The attackers separated students by religion, allowing Muslims to leave and keeping an unknown number of Christians hostage before shooting them.
They were shot many and beheaded some while some of the terrorists strapped themselves with explosives and exploded when they were shot.
The death toll is the highest in a terror attack on Kenyan soil since the U.S. Embassy was bombed in 1998 which killed more than 200 people.
The world must unite to end acts of terrorism in any part of the world. This is time for the United Nations to support the AU to deal with all militant groups on the continent. Their wickedness and cowardice are becoming too many on the continent. Innocent souls cannot be sacrificed.
The world unites with you Kenya in your grief as once again you are called into mourning.
